Training Services

Jody Strand grew up on the Arabian Horse Farm he now owns. He has been around Arabian horses all of his life and has learned from some of the best horse trainers there are, including his father.

Training a horse starts when they are young and continues through their whole life. Jody understands horses and how they think. Performance training begins around the age of three, some earlier and some later, depending mostly on the mental maturity of the horse. Performance training usually begins with ground work and line driving.

Jody trains horses in many disciplines, but is mostly known as a trainer of National Champion Western Pleasure horses. He is also very skilled in the areas of Hunter Pleasure, English Pleasure, and Driving.

Jody holds his Level I Judge's Card, which is the highest level of judging one can receive in the Arabian industry. Nominated eight times, the Arabian Professional and Amateur Horseman's Association (APAHA) selected him Male Western Pleasure Trainer of the Year in 2005. In the Arabian Horse World's "Totally Tops" awards, he has been on every list but one since the program's inception in 1996. "I'm proud of that accomplishment. It shows consistency in the ability to turn out great horses year after year."
